Cider and Festival Presentations

Saturday 27 April 2024

The afternoon of Saturday the 27th of April 2024 saw members of the branch assemble at Cobbett's Beer Shop and Micropub in Dorking to make a number of presentations.

The first award went to Cobbett's themselves for winning our Branch Cider Pub of the Year for 2024, the second year in succession that they have won this title. Pictured below handing over the award is our branch chair, Rob Wells, surrounded by Tim and Helen from Cobbett's.

The second award went to Barnard's Cyder for their Surrey Medium winning Redhill Cider of the Festival 2023, which is Barnard's first ever award. Produced locally in Abinger Hammer, their ciders can normally be found on sale at Cobbett's and were also available at this year's Farnham Beerex. Pictured below is our Redhill Festival Organiser, Martin Longhurst, making the presentation to Eldred and Henry from Barnard's, along with some of their ciders currently on sale in the shop.

Finally, we jointly presented both Cobbett's and Surrey Hills Brewery with the award for Redhill Beer of the Festival 2023 for Collusion XXX. As its name suggests, Collusion is an ongoing joint effort between the brewery and Cobbett's. Pictured again is Martin Longhurst handing over the awards to Jem from Surrey Hills and Tim from Cobbett's.
